A Dozen Cris Drawings

I must have scanned these back in the late 90′s, when I was still piling on the regular content updates. Eventually, I tired of that practice and most of these were orphaned. They still look pretty good.

16 Thoughts on “A Dozen Cris Drawings

  1. You guys should reform as an art trio!

  2. Ah yes, they are great accompaniments to the music.

    fun

  4. My husband and I lived around the corner from “the Meat Puppets house” on Roosevelt, a number of years ago now. We used to see art like this on the irrigation standpipes in the neighborhood. I wonder who put it there….

I like the one with the big teeth, particularly. Cris’s drawing was amazing.

  6. Haha, these are awesome! Did Cris ever ‘do’ anything with his drawings?

Though this pictures are amazingly unique I think that these can be very surrealistic and a little infant. But still they are great and I admire in every ways The meat puppets art works specially Cris’.

  8. These are Fantastical, even fantasmagorical…ie, they make my puffin fly! I have all the Cris I can find; and I still never get enough. Cris will always rule in my book, and a better bassist I am hard-pressed to mention in my appx. 1000 cd collection.

Guess I am a little infant.

  9. I think I saw a few of these on urinal mats in the late 80s at Mudbuggs in Tucson- or maybe it was the reflections of the music from my mind, the clouds of smoke emitting from an early seventies nova parked in the dirt lot behind the club, or perhaps it was the either bunny who was spraying copious volumes of fumage about the dance floor with bowers of flowers that bloom in the spring!!

Or maybe it was at the Stone Pony in New Jersey where some guy in a wife beater was convinced that Springsteen was gonna jam with the Puppets!!

    Maybe Some day!!!!

    Peace

I was thinking of maybe using some of these pictures as inspiration for some stuffed animals or art quilts. Are they copyrighted? Would I need to get permission before using them?

  15. You’d have to ask Cris.

  16. Any way you could post the Cris drawings from Forbidden Places and the Backwater single(and any other official releases)? I would really appreciate it. Later Adam
