		<description>Maybe not having basements in Phoenix is a good thing. Judging From the looks of that one in New York, I'm sure it was full of interesting things, but sooner or later they'd probably be relegated to the Things I Should Throw Out category... very nice photos by the way...</description>

		<description>There is something fascinating about abandoned buildings. I am partial to your photo of the ranch style shacks. I hope Ron Kaczor is doing well. A quote from one of the articles says  "We are losing something there. That eccentric part of Arizona I love so much is rapidly disappearing."
I beleive this statement can be said to sum up the rest of the country.
Phoenix seems like it has been hit hard by sprawl, harder than most, one look on google earth reaffirms this belief.

Keep up the good fieldwork Professor D, of our disappearing landscapes, architecture and cultural identity.</description>
