It wasn't Coke, it was Pepsi.

Once again, Pepsi gets no respect.

If you started that late, then you are definitely hosed. I have a solid ten years on you.

On the other hand, since you're now in the process of divesting yourself of your beloved posesssions, berhaps you have the last laugh after all. I'd have to blog into the next millennium before I got around to all the crap I have stashed.

Things in the world of thrifting are pretty picked over any more. It's not like the days when I'd routinely find the entire collection of a recently deceased kitch collector -- on sale for a whole dollar, I might add. Nowadays I'd have to have a fetish for religion albums -- which I don't -- to get my groove on. I don't even bother any more.

Derrick - Downloaded this, didn't get a chance to hear it till today. I love it! Real hep. Those arrangements are outta sight.

Reading this post, it occurred to me that you probably snatched up all the cool records from various Phoenix-area thrift shops before I could get to them. Especially during my hardcore thrifting days (c.97-00). Damn you!!

I've been checking out the "new" Lux as time permits. It's as good as always (I'm no fan of the Post-Nuke look, though). Keep cranking the Anthony Newley and I'll be happy!

Chuck found this piece of yours... maybe he told you, some LIVE DJs will begin, jesus, I think they're talking about TODAY, in a limited but growing rollout.

Chuck very much wants to find you again! Hopefully he's communicated that unto the One True You.

Be of top quality cheerings!

Hear, hear. Nice write-up as usual. As for the music this is probably my favorite thing since you posted Floyd Cramer's "Here's What's Happening!" One of the best moments is the studio echo effect break in "Barberalla." Thanks for posting it!

Thanks Bostrom,
As always well written.
Unusual though in that this fills a very large gap in my collection.
I always believed that to fully appreciate the works of Bob, you had to grow up on the East Coast where you picnic on the 'Tar Beach' and play 'Stoop Ball' while chipping away at a lemon 'Italian Ice' and checking into Hank McCoy's latest 'X'-ploits.
I am very excited to hear it, AND that I finally found something on the blog I can download!
To this kid growing up in late 50's-early 60's NYC, Bob IS the real deal.
There's a reason they call the stuff >POP
