I have a collection of antique perfume bottles and I'm always looking to collect more of them ... I think the antique perfume bottles especially those dated back to the older 18th to 19th century ones have very beautiful and intricate designs that is somewhat lost in this current era.

Many of them were dumped at the turn of the century due to the "use and throw" away mentality ... so its pretty hard to find the really nice ones now.

My wife had a dozen perfume bottles with the spray ball type thing and they were all stamped on the bottom Wiemar. They were beautiful colored glass, lots of reds and blues and greens, and sure enough my mother-in-law thought they were butt ugly and dumped the batch except for a couple. We had the survivors appraised, a la Antiques Roadshow, and they are worth $300-500. If you have any antiques with Wiemar or Republic of Germany on them you may have a very valuable item!!!

There was an old joke in Wiemar Germany that a man left a basket full of cash on his front porch overnight and someone stole the basket but left the cash.
We had a President back in the 1980's who wondered why we just couldn't print more cash to deal with inflation.......
As for boring, how could the economics of post World War 1 Germany be construed as boring...of course I guess I am kind of odd. I enjoy reading old menus in my spare time...
