You are a lucky man, Bruce -- not only to have known this great artist, but to have acquired pieces from his vast body of work! Like so many people, I have grown up with Jack Davis, and yet the art from this book remains among my favorites. I can only imagine how awesome the originals must be!

I was happy to stumble on this site after doing a general search on Jack Davis. Last year, I purchased one of the original drawings that Jack did for this book on Ebay. Now I have more information about the publication and when the art was done. Over the years, I have had the pleasure to work with jack on some packaging projects that required his humorous style to help sell an unknown product. He's the first to work within your budget, bring a different approach to how the art might look better to solve the problem and just fun to work with. There is not a better person in the industry that I know of and I was upset when he moved out of the neighborhood. I miss our accidental meetings at Thompson Art Supply store.

Thanks for the jack Davis Lincoln art! I had no idea he did historic illustrations...I grew up reading Mad and have loved his work since I was a kid.I think he did the original poster art for the Bad News Bears movie back in the 70's.
My wife claims to be a descendent of Abraham Enloe, who some say is Lincoln's illegitimate father. I don't know too much about that though....also, concerning Lincoln, I think it's interesting that he's so often portrayed as a country bumpkin lawyer, when he was actually a very astute businessman who would have easily made a fortune in law if he did not move onto bigger and better things...
