If you only went as far as Flagstaff then you missed the best part of Route 66. The 20 something miles between Kingman and Oatman driving West. Watch those tight left turns with no guardrails. Like a roller coaster with no sense of security. Somewhat scary yet exillarating. Don't make the mistake I made----no camcorder. Must capture the whole segment on video.

Hi Derrick

Beautiful pics, almost phantasmagoric and surrealistic images. I love them.
Reminds me much of Oliver Stone's "U Turn"
Hope to drive R66 someday!

Best Regardz.

PS: Got pics of Superior AZ ? :-)

Yes, I'm also much more familiar with the route east of Flagstaff. The westerly route is much more isolated, but very beautiful. Highly recommended!

Neat pictures. Precisely one year ago, we drove Route 66 from Chicago to Flagstaff. I'd love to do it again, or perhaps go back to Flagstaff and follow it west the rest of the way.
