Every day I'm reminded of some old landmark from my past, now long gone. Today, I am mourning the old Evolution Records on Camelback and Scottsdale Roads. Nothing special at all, but I still liked it better than the P.F Chang's which inhabits that corner now. There are just a small handful of classic Scottsdale office buildings left in that neighborhood, and believe me: I'm afraid to blink.

Growing up, that Motorola building in Scottsdale was an alluring object of wonder. I used to imagine it was filled with scientists in white coats looking at coloful fluids in beakers 'n stuff. The two T-shaped dorm buildings at ASU were also fascinating to me. Luckily those structures are still around.

I just thought of another cool building - the shell-shaped church over by Los Arcos Mall (long demolished).
