Matt conducts a swell interview, but who’s that douchey loudmouth he’s talking to?

These are great interviews! I’ve read much of the Derrick interview and just started the Cris one. I plan on savoring them over time…great story telling in those answers…
Good stuff Derrick, keep it coming. Curt was a Shakespeare guy ehh… I dunno, although you would certainly have far more insight than me. Free word association meaning nothing seems a bit too easy. Are you telling me I have spent 20 plus years placing meaning to these very abstract lyrics, and it was all for naught?
Never for naught. The meaning you derive is what matters, not his. Give yourself a little credit!
Back in the early days, if someone complimented the band, Curt’d say, “Hey: you’re the one that heard it.”
Which isn’t to say, the songs had no meaning to him. But he’d change the words to make sure his original meanings were deliberately obliterated.
